A plain-language walkthrough of the actual first-call-to-first-appointment process β so there are no surprises.
Start with a conversation. Call Connecting Bridges to discuss what is bringing you to treatment and the type of support you may need. We can answer initial questions about our SACOT program, scheduling, eligibility, and what to expect next. Response time depends on urgency: emergent needs are handled ASAP, urgent requests within 48 hours, and standard requests within 7 days.
We take time to understand the whole picture. Your assessment helps us understand your substance use history, mental health needs, current challenges, strengths, supports, living environment, medical needs, and recovery goals. This information helps determine whether SACOT is an appropriate level of care and what areas should be addressed in your treatment.
Your treatment should reflect your needs. If SACOT is appropriate, we work with you to identify individualized goals and areas of focus. Your treatment plan may address substance use, mental health symptoms, relapse risks, coping skills, relationships, housing or employment barriers, daily functioning, and other needs affecting your recovery.
This is where treatment begins. Your first SACOT session introduces you to the structure of the program and helps you become comfortable participating in the group. SACOT meets Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Sessions are structured and educational while allowing clients to participate at an appropriate pace. You can expect a combination of psychoeducation, therapeutic discussion, CBT-based interventions, coping-skills development, relapse-prevention strategies, structured activities, and practical recovery work.
You will begin learning how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, triggers, mental health, and substance use connect. You will also start identifying the patterns and barriers that may affect your recovery and developing healthier ways to respond.
You are not expected to have everything figured out on your first day. Treatment is a process. We begin with where you are and build from there.
